Hagatna, Guam – March 16, 2010 - SMG (Sorensen Media Group) – presents the second annual

ISLAND MUSIC AWARDS, honoring and recognizing musical talent on the island of Guam. This concept is based on public participation with the awarding ceremony held on Sunday April 11, 2010, at the SandCastle Showroom in Tumon, with a number of musical performances and special presenters that evening. “We have a number of performances scheduled, and anticipate a very memorable program,” said Gabriel Leon Guerrero, General Sales Manager of the SMG Radio Division. “Over the years, this idea has been discussed and conceptualized, but was never fully developed. We are proud to involve all the resources of the Sorensen Media Group to present the people of Guam with a comprehensive list of musical categories recognized. ”

Fourteen categories have been balloted for the public to vote and the public was asked to nominate their favorite band or artist in the following categories- BEST ROCK BAND, BEST CHAMORRO BAND, BEST REGGAE BAND,BEST HIP-HOP BAND, BEST CONTEMPORARY BAND, BEST LOUNGE ACT, BEST DANCE BAND; and individual awards for BEST MALE SINGER RETRO & CONTEMPORARY, BEST FEMALE SINGER RETRO & CONTEMPORARY, BEST ORIGINAL SONG, BEST HIP-HOP ARTIST. AND BEST CLUB DJ-

All votes being tabulated, the top three acts or individuals were determined and new ballots are created and ready for voting. The public vote to find the “best” band or artist in each category is still up for participation through paper ballot, website voting, and text voting through participating sponsors.

The ISLAND MUSIC AWARDS ‘10, will be orchestrated like a typical televised awards program with categories announced, nominees recognized, awards distributed and performances throughout the night. The evening will culminate with the awarding of a special lifetime achievement award, recognizing two ISLAND ICONs of this year’s program. This year’s ISLAND ICON honorees are Frank BOKKONGO

and PATRICK PALOMO. A special presentation will be made to the family and artist. Unique performances will be enjoyed by all who attend the evening’s program. The ISLAND MUSIC AWARDS ‘10 will be recorded for television broadcast on both ABC7 and FOX6 in the month of April 2009. This program will be televised as a Sorensen Television Systems production.

Tickets for the Island Music Awards may be purchased at all 76/Circle K locations, and the offices of Sorensen Media Group, 8th floor, Bank of Guam in Hagatna . Tickets are just $10.00 for general Admission and $35.00 for VIP which includes all access green room refreshments and preferred seating.

NEW SHERIFF IN TOWN FOR POWER 98 FM

Hagatna (GU) ---- The Sorensen Media Group recently announced the promotion of Kristine "Kai" Young to the position of Program Director of Power 98 FM.

Young has been a member of the Power 98 team for over four years and has headlined as a host in every major day part, including co-hosting four different versions of "The Power 98 Morning Show."

Young can now be found alongside Kyle Mandapat on Guam's most listened to morning radio program, "The Morning Blender with Kai and Kyle" every weekday from 6 to 10am.

Young will break new ground as the first female Program Director in Power 98 history and has major plans for Guam's Party Station.

"In a male dominated industry, I am glad to say, the girls are taking over. This is only the beginning, get ready for an awesome ride, " said Young.

Gibson Promoted to Director of Operations and Programming for the Radio Division of the Sorensen Media Group

Rex Sorensen, Chairman/CEO of the Sorensen Media Group has announced the appointment of veteran radio broadcaster Ray Gibson to the post of Director of Operations and Programming for the Radio Division of the Sorensen Media Group. Ray's new responsibilities include direct oversight of the daily broadcast operations of the company's three (3) Guam radio stations Newstalk K57, Power98, and the Rock105.1. In addition to assuming the duties of Director of Operations, Ray will continue to host his popular morning talk show on NewsTalk K57 radio weekday mornings from 6:AM -10:AM and host the weekly “Good Question” television program seen on ABC7/FOX6.

Ray's over 25 years of radio broadcasting experience which includes both management and programming positions as well as On-Air assignments will assist the company in further developing its on-air products and enhancing our listeners' experiences.

Ray joined the Sorensen Media Group in 1999 as Program Director and Morning Host of Power98fm. In 2005, Ray moved from hosting music radio to becoming the Morning Show Host on Newstalk K57. With Ray as NewsTalk K57's morning host, the program has achieved some of its highest audience ratings. Prior to joining Sorensen Media Group, Ray had a successful 14 year radio career as an afternoon host and program director of radio station KOKU.

Sorensen Media Group Appoints New Sales Director for Power98

Sorensen Media Group announced today the appointment of Mr. James Castro as Director of Sales and Marketing for Power 98 FM. In his new position, James will have full responsibility for managing and directing the sales and marketing efforts of radio station Power 98.

James brings to the job an extensive resume in sales and marketing. Most recently James was Marketing Manager for the SandCastle Entertainment Group; prior to that position he held a similar position with for GameWorks. James broadcasting experience includes Station Manager at KUAM.

We are also please to announce the appointment of Mr. Gabriel Leon Guerrero, formerly sales manager for Power98FM, to the newly created position of Director of Non-Traditional Revenue for the Sorensen Media Group. In his new position, Gabriel will be responsible for developing and implementing new revenue streams across the company's media platforms which include radio, television, and the internet.

Sorensen Media Group Appoints New Head of CNMI Operations

Rex Sorensen, President, of the Sorensen Media Group announced today the appointment of Curtis Dancoe as Vice President-CNMI Operations. Dancoe will be responsible for the Sorensen Media Group's radio and television properties in the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands . These properties include Power 99, the Rock 97.9, and ABC7 Saipan. ABC7 is scheduled to begin network broadcasting of ABC Network Programming in late January 2007. When ABC7 begins it Network Programming, it will be Saipan 's only free, over the air television signal. Arrangements have also been concluded to carry ABC7 programming on MCV cable channel 7.

Prior to his new assignment, Curtis was Vice-President, General Manger of the Company's Radio stations on Guam . Curtis began his career with Sorensen Media Group over 12 years ago as an Account Executive on Guam . He was previously on Saipan as General Manager of its radio stations from 1999 to 2003.
